Baungon, Bukidnon :
Baungon is categorized as 2nd Class Municipality in the Northern part of the Province of Bukidnon, Mindanao, Philippines. It is about 132 kilometers north of Malaybalay City, it can be reached by traversing via Cagayan de Oro City of Misamis Oriental Province, which is about 32 kilometers from Poblacion of Imbatug. Bounded on the northeast by the Municipality of Libona, on the Southern portion by the Municipality of Lantapan, and on the Western part by the Municipality of Talakag. The total land area is 328.34 square kilometres based on the cadastral survey made by the DENR.
Based on the 2000 population commission census data, Baungon has a population density of 26,695 people of 5,141 households with registered voters of 20,121.
Economy
The economic activity of this town is primarily engaged in agricultural. The main agricultural crop productions are corn, cassava, banana, sweet potato, fruits and vegetables, bamboo crafts, and abaca products. Mill products consist of the following: corn grits, rice, and cassava starch.
Climate Condition
Baungon belongs to the third type of climate which is relatively dry season from March to April and wet season from May to December, typical and of the same climate environmental condition of the province. More than a decade ago, the heavy downpour was recorded in January with 497.8 millimeters. April has the lowest magnitude of downpour with 24.3mm. The average temperature is 77.0 degrees Fahrenheit and the average humidity is 82.2 degrees.
